The JR Newsletter is the official e-newsletter of the John Reich Collectors Society. The purpose of the John Reich Collectors Society (JRCS) is to encourage the study of numismatics, particularly United States gold and silver coins minted before the introduction of the Seated Liberty design, and to provide technical and educational information concerning such coins.

Bay State Show, Boston, MA 20-22 November 2009
I am headed to the Bay State Show in Boston (Radisson Hotel at 200 Stuart Street) on Saturday, 21 November. If any other JRCS people will be there, I'd be happy to meet and say hello. If not, I will do my best to post a "show report" from the perspective of a half dime collector.

Here's my show report from the perspective of a half dime collector: I looked at as many capped bust half dimes as I could find. Most of the coins were problematic. The very few problem-free coins available were common die marriages and common remarriages. It was neat to see a Jules Reiver coin, the 1833 LM-3.4. It was still in the NGC holder. Some dealers were asking a ton of money for bust quarters, WAY more than recent prices realized would suggest reasonable. Fun show, I bought a couple books about large cents.
