The 1832 LM-9.1 Capped Bust Half Dime being offered in David Perkins' January 2024 SB Half Dime Sale as Lot 2407 is an old friend of mine. The late Don Frederick displayed it from his personal collection during the 1991 100thAnniversary ANA “World’s Fair of Money” at the Rosemont O’Hare Convention Center (Chicago area). Don was a knowledgeable collector-dealer best known in Bust Halves circles. After some haggling, I was able to acquire the coin from Don via a private transaction. It became a very important addition to a growing Capped Bust Half Dimes collection during my peak years of collecting the series. In 1994 I passed it on to Glenn Peterson as part of a three-way deal with Russ Logan. Hopefully it would now pass on to a new owner who will come to appreciate it as much as I did while it remained in my personal collection for several years.
