Next, some announcements from Winston Zack:

HOW EXCITING! The 2nd known 1796 JR-7 dime has been reported by NGC (see link for press release):  https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/5113/rare-1796-dime/

This is a MAJOR upgrade to the lowly, Fair-detail piece which was discovered by Brian Greer in 2002, and sold in the Ed Price collection in 2008. This example now shows all the details of the obverse die, as well as the later die state of the reverse die. The wear of this piece is remarkably uniform. Congrats to the long-time owner.

Although I cannot be certain that this variety was identified because someone at NGC was using the new Bust Dime VIG, it is discoveries like this which make me quite pleased to have worked on such a project in the first place.

Speaking of rare bust dime die marriages, at the end of 2015 a 5th example of the extremely rare 1803 JR-5 dime die marriage was reported.

Next week I plan on sending out an 'errata' list of updates and mistakes to the Bust Dime VIG which have been reported in the last 6 months since publication.

Best,
Winston

Finally, Brad Karoleff answered a question asked by Gary Rosner:

In response to Gary Rosner's question about the census of 1829 curl base 2 dimes:  The most recent census was compiled by Louis Scuderi in Volume 21/2 (whole number 63) of the John Reich Journal.
